Statistics of Interest

Over 10,000 students in Detroit alone lack art, not including the suburban schools cutting the minutes of art or completely eliminating art class.

Art Road currently teaches at Edison Elementary School in Detroit. We are able to teach 400 students art class twice per month currently at Edison. Our students range in age from 6 to 12. And class sizes are large: about 30 students per class.

The art classes are now a most important part of the children's lives. Our interest in bringing art class back to schools is echoed by the following:

Adopt Mustang Sally!

A $10,000 donation to Art Road will allow us to bring art class to 40 students for the entire school year. And, you will be the proud owner of Mustang Sally. Created on March 26, 2010 by 125 Art Road students and fourteen volunteers, the giant art dog was inspired by lovable thirteen-inch-tall "art dogs" created by students in our classrooms.  Contact us if you want to know more about adopting Mustang Sally.
