After 22 unforgettable years, Art Road is closing its doors.

What began with a simple idea, that every child deserves access to art, turned into a journey that touched the lives of over 23,000 students across southeastern Michigan. We were able to bring actual art classes, local artists, and field trips into schools that needed them most. None of it would have been possible without our incredible donors, volunteers, teachers, and school partners.

To our students: watching you pick up a paintbrush, discover what you were capable of, and grow your confidence was easily the best part of this. You were the whole reason we did this.

While our chapter is coming to an end, our belief in the arts isn’t. Creative programs aren’t just a nice perk; they’re essential. Art helps kids figure out who they are, how to express themselves, and how to understand others. Our communities still need that kind of outlet.

As we wind things down, we hope you’ll keep advocating for creative programs in local schools, supporting neighborhood artists, and encouraging the young people in your life to keep making things.

Thank you for every hour volunteered, every dollar donated, and every word of support over the last two decades. Our doors might be closing, but the impact you helped make stays with these kids forever.

With gratitude,

The Art Road Team

Here’s a post about the lovely Heidelberg Project addition that Art Road Non Profit put together and Justin invited me to! I’m so grateful to have been there that day, it was the most fun I’ve had in a while. I forgot what it was like to gather with a group of artists and work together on something. It was inspiring and I hope this beautiful project that Tyree Guyton created continues to grow and thrive and bring beauty, color, and joy to the community. Thank you, thank you, thank you

“Charles Wright Academy of Arts & Science is overwhelmed to be selected to have Art Road Nonprofit at our school. For the past 5 years, Art Road has brought art classes to our students twice a week. The students have the opportunity to show their artsy talents while also increasing their daily attendance. Yes, because of Art Road our student attendance has increased. The students really look forward to their art class. I would love to see Art Road receive a grant to cover some of the cost. Without this program our art students will not have any art.”
